The African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS) continues to document human rights violations in Sudan since the eruption of war in April 2023 to promote accountability. Through accurate documentation of evidence of atrocities committed in Darfur, ACJPS presents documentary films capturing the testimonies of victims of how they have been impacted by the conflict.

This first documentary depicts the severe violations against civilians in El Fasher and its surrounding areas due to indiscriminate artillery shelling. Through the testimony of a young girl and her mother, the film highlights the deep suffering caused by the shelling, which destroyed their home and led to the girl having her leg amputated, forcing the family to flee to the Jebel Marra area in search of safety. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WGzSA2EXnHOWjP1h4FQ-2yPb0pCzCHRX/view?usp=sharing

The second documentary presents powerful testimonies from survivors currently residing in the Adré refugee camp in Chad. Women recount the systematic sexual violence they endured in the city of El Geneina and surrounding areas, including acts of mass rape and brutal assaults. The film highlights one of the most horrific aspects of the conflict’s impact on women. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Rjke-0KFV5obik1RBwiiHZg42U0NHo_p/view?usp=sharing

This film captures the issue of enforced disappearance, a widespread and ongoing violation affecting civilians throughout Sudan. Through emotional interviews with the families of the disappeared, the documentary explores the psychological and social consequences of arbitrary detention and the anguish of not knowing the fate of missing loved ones. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Noe8iTmPRTDVZysCAVnCiZczms_wBXKy/view?usp=sharing
