ACJPS presents this report to the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) with the aim of shedding light on the gross human rights violations committed in Sudan since 15th April 2023.

The African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS), writes to the Commission to express our concerns and urge you to address the ongoing violations of human rights in Sudan marked by continued impunity. ACJPS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working to monitor and promote respect for human rights and legal reform in Sudan.

The African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS) warmly welcomes the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights’ (ACHPR) resolute decision to establish a Joint Fact-Finding Mission to probe the dire human rights situation in Sudan. This landmark move is a crucial step towards ensuring accountability for the grave atrocities committed against the Sudanese people.

The African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS), documents this report to update the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights (ACHPR) at its 79th Ordinary Session on the ongoing violations of human rights in Sudan. ACJPS is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working to monitor and promote respect for human rights and legal reform in Sudan.

Our organisations continue to express deep concerns about gross human rights violations that are being perpetrated against civilians in Sudan by the Sudanese Armed Forces, Paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and armed militia groups.

We, the undersigned Sudanese civil society organizations, call for the ACHPR to support to adopt a resolution on Sudan setting up an international commission of inquiry into all violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws and related crimes committed in Sudan since 15 April 2023.
