PUBLICATIONS #human rights violations in Sudan

Through interviews with victims and their families, the research sheds light on various forms of human trafficking, including sexual exploitation, forced labor, child recruitment, forced marriage, and exploitation along smuggling routes in Sudan.

This report aims to shed light on the situation of human rights defenders in Sudan during the armed conflict that has extended from April 2023 to date, with a focus on the threats and violations faced by activists, volunteers, and humanitarian, health, and human rights workers. The report is based on field reports and direct testimonies from victims and witnesses, as well as information monitored by a documentation team that adheres to confidentiality to ensure the safety of sources.

Ahead of the UN Human Rights Council’s 60th session (8 September-8 October 2025), we, the undersigned civil society organizations, write to urge your delegation to support a mandate extension for the Independent International Fact-Finding Mission (FFM) for the Sudan.

In this release, ACJPS documents an incident where four male IDPs were attacked, wounded, and killed by a group of RSF fighters while travelling from Nyala to Alsalam IDP camp.

July 2025 marked a significant escalation in the armed conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), spreading to new areas and resulting in increased civilian casualties.

This report details the most significant violations observed in Sudan during April, May, and June 2025, caused by the ongoing armed conflict that began in Sudan on April 15, 2023, focusing on four main thematic areas.

Since April 2023, Sudan has witnessed a horrific deterioration in security and humanitarian conditions, culminating in widespread human rights violations during May 2025. The ongoing war between the SAF and RSF has resulted in systematic targeting of civilians across Darfur, Kordofan, and eastern Sudan.

The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS) launched their new joint report: "We demand justice, We deserve justice: Accountability processes for victims of Sudan."

This Newsletter documents the most prominent violations of international humanitarian law and human rights witnessed in Sudan during April 2025, resulting from the ongoing armed conflict that commenced on April 15, 2023

ACJPS presents this report to the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR) with the aim of shedding light on the gross human rights violations committed in Sudan since 15th April 2023.

Genocide and atrocity crimes are being committed now in North Darfur. The RSF is engaged in the mass killing of civilians and will likely continue this if/when they reach El Fasher.

Enforced disappearance has been used as a deliberate tool by the warring parties in Sudan to silence dissent and terrorize civilians.
